Here's an update. I harvested the Flame Seedless and Perlette grapes in mid-June. The Golden muscat was harvested in mid-July.
I had been dealing with a lot of leaf-hoppers on most of the vines, except the Golden muscat.
I applied fertilizer in mid August to allow the plants to get some growth, and also get ready for the coming cooler months.
Over and out.

Weekend before Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM KENT, BRANDI, DEENA, CHASE, PIXIE (a weird looking chihuahua/shitzu), SPECK (a 5 lb mini shitzu/poodle), TAZ(a turtle), and CHLOE (a turtle with an attitude)
Well, if everybody didn't know... we got some real snow here in Henderson on Wednesday. We measured about 6 inches here at the house. It took me 11/2 hours to get home due to traffic. Brandi was working in Boulder City and the road going there was closed for a few hours, so she had to wait until it was opened and it took her 2 hours to get home. It was a crazy day. Deena and Chase had a snow day, since the City of Henderson doesn't own a snowplow. I kind of laughed at that... i've seen worse snowstorms in Cache Valley and I think only once that it was too cold (-15 or so) to go to school. There is still snow at the house as of today, and it will actually last a few more days with the cooler weather we're having.
We had parent/teacher conference with Chase's teacher this past week. He's doing good in a lot of subjects. He likes to talk a lot in class (very outgoing)... he didn't get that from me. The teacher says that he's doing great with Spanish, and he's showing lots of improvements in every area. And of course, he's getting better at video games. He's even a challenge for me on some games.
Deena is being a typical 13 year old (bored and wanting to do something). She's still playing trombone in band. She has been working on her young womens stuff and put together getting gifts for missionaries from members of the ward. She did a great job!
For Brandi and me, we've been working. Brandi is working whenever she can for her brother at the pawn shop in Boulder City. She'll be starting part-time next month at St. Rose Hospital, which both of us are very excited about that. She really enjoys being in the medical field. I'm still purchasing for Sun City Landscapes and I've taken over doing the estimating. Things are slow, but we're looking at many options to keep us busy. We've taken on pouring our own concrete and installing pavers. I believe we'll even start getting into tree trimming and maintenance more this coming year. Especially since some of the trees that aren't used to having snow on them had branches that broke.
I of course am still in church choir as the pianist (going on 8 years). For the ward christmas party, we did Silent Night and I played the guitar. For Sunday, I'll be singing instead (bass of course. i prefer baritone when it's available) since we're having a harp, flute and cello do the accompanying. The choir is almost more like a quartette at times... any ideas to motivate others to join?
I'm looking forward to the few days off at Christmas. Hopefully I'll have some time to put together some creative videos, music, etc, for the website. I have a plethera of great ideas stirring inside my head. I'd do some stuff now, but the job just gets in the way...gosh.
Anyways, hope everybody has a happy and safe holiday. Hope that all is going well for everybody!

So, this is my first blog.
Welcome to my first posting. It was a lovely day in Las Vegas about 60 degrees for the high. Leaves are dropping, and of course ending up in the pond. Saturday will be another day to clean up the leaves with my leaf-sucking machine! (a note to the wise: do not listen to your I-Pod when you are operating an electrical appliance such as a leaf-sucking machine. You will start to feel a little bit of electrical tingling in your ears. This happened to me 2 weeks ago, and I immediately removed my I-pod. I refuse to be a conductor of electricity! And just in case if you were wondering, I wasn't grounded either. (insert laughter here))
